  • Caitlin Clark, Kelsey Mitchell and head coach Christie Sides talked with reporters postgame - after the Indiana Fever's 85-83 win at Washington Mystics in front of 20,333 fans at Capital One Arena in Washington DC.
    The Mystics (0-11) were one of the first teams to move their home game against the Fever to a different venue to accommodate ticket demands to see Clark. And she delivered, despite not being able to completely hear out of her ears.
    The first quarter was the difference as the Fever jumped out ahead by nine points, then held on. Clark finished with a game-high 30 points, eight rebounds, six assists, four steals and eight turnovers. Mitchell added 16 points and, notably, the Fever only played seven.

    Clark has great intuition. She could read Michell's body language and tell that she felt left out of this post-game interview and that she deserved to be asked more questions. Mitchell was very genuine and kind in giving accolades to "the kid" and showing how gracious she is about having Clark on the team. The backcourt of Mitchell and Clark is no joke. I cannot wait to see how they and the rest of the team progress throughout the season.

    Can you please ask Coach Sides why she doesn’t give Celeste Taylor minutes? She literally has a 2x defensive player of the year, 80 steals last year. 3 and D player with a lot of heart. Great in transition.

    Kelsey Mitchel is who is going to make or break this team. Her presence is critical. The way she brings joy and warmth to this team is critical for a team with big pressure and a lot of losing. You can see the chemistry building with her and CC. She’s got to keep CC and AB out of their heads. KM just seems like a great person and teammate.

      I think this whole team is so good and has so much potential. I’m excited for the future. You’re right though … that backcourt is going to be dangerous with Km at the head because experience matters.

      Clarke isn't a leader yet. Her vets ,Mitchel too should have jumped to her defense on court. You know what would happen ? you would automatically become a FAN FAVORITE. YOUR SHIRT WOULD SELL OUT TOO. That's the problem with this group of twits. You want to be known than be a team mate. Better yet be an OLDER VETERN MENTOR,that's what we want need . You want 30 thousand fans? Do that and watch with winning and your value grow.

    The Media could really cool the tension in the WNBA if they would address their questions to the other girls more often. Mitchell plaed a really good game.

    Hi guys, could someone explain the playing schedule to me. I'm confused as to the reason they have to play such a rigorous schedule with very little rest and no practice time. Some people are suggesting termination of Coach Sides' contract, but when did she have time to work with them? Bonding and practicing are critical to effective execution and positive outcomes, so they are really doing well in spite of the circumstances! CC and KM, you both added heat to the floor and we know this is just the beginning...🔥🏀🙏!

      I'm guessing the league wanted to have CC play a lot of games so they can sell more tickets, ads, etc.

    I've been saying a lot of this is media issued drama. Clark hasn't said a damn thing bout the Carter foul but the media carries it on n on n on n then in press interviews they all but ignore the other players. Sometimes it would be nice to see other players out there instead of Clark that way they can answer questions too.

    • @ScottAgness

      It’d be ideal if the WNBA opened up locker rooms like had been traditionally done. Then we would have a chance to talk to more

    • @roee78
      @roee78 20 дней назад

      Yep. The media is doing what they do. They actually started all of this which is what they are trained to do in order to get that media clip or breaking story. My minor in college was Journalism and was a part of the campus newspaper...the editor was always on me on needing to write more of what is called "yellow Journalism ". I wouldn't so he was always mad. 😂 It's what gets you in the printed media the coveted byline. Today with so much social media and on spot coverage reporters got to keep picking and poking but players got to get smart and not fall for it. Maturity or for some it's the persona they want to portray to keep themselves in the media. Double edged sword. But good dialogue here.

    Kelsy is overwhelmed with all this noise and hype. She al.ost broke down. I think they felt like they didnt matter. I hope they can alm become a team. They dont need dirty but they do need to be grumpier, and nasty is returned 2 fold when its recieved. We are good until its fuck around and find out time. This is whats needed. She dint need olympics this year clark needs some rest when its over like a month of healing. Potential is their but who knows.

    Did 22 say I feel like they're close tonight? Tells you why they don't have the back! By the way, did anyone actually see that 22 didn't help Katie Lou off the deck? Keep throwing out word salad, but you earn respect by giving respect. Check Martin, they love her. That was a really awkward moment at the end!

      I don't think it was awkward at all. I thought it was two young women who have only known each other a short while coming together as teammates and friends. This might be a moment that the Fever looks back on as a turning point.
